We love floral inspirations, and having already created prints inspired by peonies and chrysanthemums, we thought the next obvious progression in the Asian floral lexicon would be lotuses. To heighten the sexual and mythical nature of this piece, we also added nine-tailed foxes to the print. Nine-tailed foxes, spirits or demons (depending on who you ask), are known in folklore for taking on human form to ensnare their prey with their irresistible beauty and charm. Once under the spell of a nine-tailed fox, no human can escape feelings of lust and infatuation for the otherworldly creature. By modern understandings, a nine-tailed fox can be seen as a manifestation of a person with a strong sense of desire and a captivating sexual energy.
With that idea in mind, we created this cheeky, sexy print, so you can show off your best assets to catch the attention of all potential admirers.
The charms are the stylized folk symbol variation of the Chinese character for “祿”， which represents prosperity. We used this symbol because it looks cool, but also we wanted the universe to work in your favor when you step out into the world, wet and half-naked.
